Big blooms, such as hydrangeas, lilies and peonies, are statement makers. While I love little tiny spray roses and the like as much as anyone else, you should go for the big blooms if you want to make the most impact. Just three to five stems of hydrangeas will fill a vase and they can often be found for a low price per bunch.
