Squash Blossom Necklace | Unknown Navajo Artist. Circa 1960's | Cast silver naja, the silver beads are made from dimes; date in general to the early 1900s and the dollar coins date from between 1878 and 1921.
This is a beautiful old Palestinian iznaq or chin-chain, attached to the headdress and worn just beneath the chin. Featuring strong hooks, a double chain, a special filigreed bead, and a Maria Theresia Thaler. This one is not from Bethlehem but from another town or village such as Beit Daijan.
