4-Hers don’t wait to wear green just on St. Patrick’s Day, they don their favorite color year-round to proudly display the official 4-H emblem, a green four-leaf clover. While students are working problems, walk around the room with a handful of green pens. When someone finishes the problems correctly, they get a green star and a green pen. Now they are qualified to coach and star papers for other students, and so on, until everyone is done.
Green Education Program Grants Deadline: Applications Accepted Year-Round The Alternative Fuel Foundation provides grants of $250-500 to forward-thinking schools with projects that use alternative fuels and promote sustainability. Those that encourage parent involvement and build community spirit are preferred. Nonprofit public and private K-12 schools and their associated parent groups are eligible.
