Ballerinas. Jules René Hervé (French, 1887-1981). Oil on canvas. Hervé was an impressionist artist whose subjects ranged from ballerinas to rural genre scenes to Parisian city scenes. In 1910, he first exhibited a painting in the Salon of French Artists. In 1914, he received the Medaille d'Argent from the French Artists association, and from that time was a regular exhibitor at the Paris Salons.
