Longcase Clock,probably ca.1675–78.Movement by Thomas Tompion.Case: oak, veneered with oystershell-cut olivewood and marquetry panels of green-stained bone, ivory, and various woods, gilt-brass mounts; Dial: brass, partly gilded and partly silvered.  Movement: brass and steel.

A late 18th century satinwood and faded mahogany secretaire cabinet of the finest quality and proportions, the upper section having three glazed doors, the centre door of arched form, surmounted by a circular convex mirror and eight finely turned urn finials. The lower part with a fitted secretaire drawer above cupboard doors panelled with stringing and cross-banding, flanked by reeded columns headed by acanthus leaf capitals, raised on turned and tapered feet.

John Shearer, (Now West Virginia) Martinsburg Virginia, 1801-1806, walnut, cherry & mulberry, y.p.,oak, HOA: 106 1/8″; LOA: 45″; DOA: 24 1/2″. MESDA # 2979. The later paint inscription on the back, “E. Pendleton/Winchester,” apparently refers to Edmund Pendleton (1816-1880) of Martinsburg. In 1869 he was appointed U.S. District Court Judge in Winchester, moved there and is buried in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
