For recorder karate: Students each have a name card (with a cute little recorder karate picture) with Velcro on the back. The colored felt squares I got at Hobby lobby for $.25 each and I just held together by safety pins. The roof of the pagoda is just card stock that I've laminated. When they earn a new belt they tie a belt on their recorder but also move their name up the pagoda. Great motivation for them to see it. They're so proud to move their name up the pagoda.
