Sesame Street's Cookie Monster started out life as something rather different. Being one of three monsters designed by Henson for TV commercials, the Cookie Monster was originally green with large teeth and was known as the "Wheel Stealer." He made his actual TV debut in 1967 where he devoured a complex coffee making machine as the machine described it's various components.
