My Grandma Millie's Famous Oatmeal Cookies! If there was one recipe that I came close to never sharing with anyone, this would be it... but then I thought, what better way for my grandmother's memory to live on than with her famous cookie recipe? I can't remember a single Christmas without her making all of her loved ones these delicious cookies, and I've never tasted another like them. They're so easy too, it's sometimes hard to grasp that something this simple can taste so darn good!
Millie and Duncan's special memory home | Habitat by Resene
When we document our lives and the lives of those close to us we are attempting to insure future remembrances despite the bittersweet truth that memories deteriorate the more you recall them. We photograph to confirm the existence of what we want to remember. Also recalling Susan Sontag’s reflections on photography - the medium delivers a recurring and self-referential pathos unique to our time. $105 Mixed media collage - acrylic, stickers and vintage ephemera on card. Unframed.

MINNIE DANIEL (1980-85) | Tolgus, Cornwall: 'Ted Gundry chats with 100 year-old Minnie Daniel, about her memories working as a Bal Maiden at Tolgus Tin near Redruth before the First World War. Blind at the time of interview, Millie talks about her duties including breaking "spall stones" which were used for roads, and her clothing (an apron called a "towser"), "sparple boots" and rudimentary gloves made from rags.' ✫ღ⊰n
