The Madeline Island Historical Museum in La Pointe is basically a museum of a museum. 1/2 of the museum was constructed by island locals Leo Casper & his wife in 1958 and has hardly changed. It tells the story of the original island inhabitants (the Ojibwe) and those who later came to the island to trade with them, the French and British.
