Plankton is the basis of the oceanic food chain. It was thought that the animal that compose zooplankton, were the perfect prey! Why? Because of their little size they weren't able to swim against the currents. But they can do that, and more! Researchers have found that they are able to adapt to water temperature, altering the rhythm of their pulsing appendage! How climate change will affect them is still unknown, but it will for sure as they are not able to react to viscosity changes.
