A beautiful Red Kite (milvus milvus). The lucky Europeans, and people in the United Kingdom, Ireland and that area of the world who get to see this beautiful, agile bird of prey. This particular photo was taken during a snow fall in Sweden by Henrik Just.

Mississippi Kite.  These beautiful birds appear each year about Memorial Day and soar above our property daily until Labor Day.  They nest in our trees, and perch on the power lines to watch for food.

The species is currently endemic to the Western Palearctic region in Europe and northwest Africa,  It is resident in the milder parts of its range in western Europe and northwest Africa.  Vagrants have reached north to Finland and south to Israel, Libya and Gambia
