The By-the-Wind Sailor, Velella velella, looks like a tiny jellyfish up to 10 cm across. It is blown across the ocean driven by a small sail, supported by a paper-like float. The sail has a twist, which may be to the right or the left. It is thought that the two types end up on different beaches. These, like the Blue Button Jelly, are hydroids, a collection of many individual organisms that come together to create a larger form for survival.
