There’s no point in trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to our great national dish. Having said that, I do love sneaking in lots of gutsy garlic. For the best result, be sure to ask for thick chops on the bone. When made well it’s not hard to see why this is one of Ireland’s favorite dishes.
smoky chilli braised beef with cornbread dumplings: this recipe is so tasty! I cut down the sugar to 2 Tbsps and added 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar to the braising beef. I used regular canned tomatoes and sharp cheddar as that's all I had to hand.. For a heartier meal, sub bread flour for A.P. flour when making the dumplings.
