Jeanne Toussaint 1920's - director of Cartier’s luxury jewelry department from 1933 until she retired in 1968. Toussaint explored different motifs: animals, panthers, dragons, chimeras, flowers, and her favourite of all, birds (parrots and flamingos were a particular favourite) - all inspired by the exoticism of India, Persia, and the Far East.
