Life is Beautiful (and so is this movie!) Roberto Benigni has become my favorite movie dad with his amazing portrayal of a father determined to guard (and protect! HAHA) his young son's heart as they are thrust into a concentration camp during the holocaust. This movie is subtitled, but I promise you won't feel like you're reading it.
1942. Mrs. Miniver (1942) - The Minivers, an English "middle-class" family experience life in the first months of World War II. While dodging bombs, the Miniver's son courts Lady Beldon's granddaughter. A rose is named after Mrs. Miniver and entered in the competition against Lady Beldon's rose.
