Number 2 Audley Square in South Audley Street has a tale to tell of spying and secret services. For it is here that the Russian spy's of the mid 50's would leave and collect secret messages from inside the lamppost (photographed). The little trap door at the side of the lamppost was the perfect place to leave coded messages.
This artwork was done by Keith Parkinson for the US edition of The Chronicles of Pern : First Fall, published by Random House (Ballantine/Del Rey) and it was used for both hard- and softcover books. It has a unique interpretation of a colonist sled and is one of the Pern book covers that have more of a science fiction feeling about them because of the technical details. The dragonrider and dragon could be meant to be Sean Connell and bronze Carenath.
Swaine Adeney made the original Bond case with its distinctive red skiver lining for James Bond 007 played by Sean Connery in the 1963 film "From Russia with Love". Fortunately, you don't need to be Sean Connery to own 007's attaché. Betty Hemmings offers a replica of this briefcase (minus the ammunition, knives and rifle). It's a must-have for collectors of James Bond memorabilia and 007 gadgets!
