: Canyonlands National Park "Overlooks rule at Island in the Sky Once in Island in the Sky what we had read in our research was confirmed the district is mainly centered around various overlooks from the high elevation of the island mesa top down into the canyons. Throughout our entire trip until this point we have advocated for people to go beyond the overlooks and tried to suggest creative ways to do that. But at Island in the Sky the numerous overlooks are where its at."…

: Arches National Park Most of the formations at Arches are made of soft red sandstone deposited 150 million years ago. Much later groundwater began to dissolve the underlying salt deposits. The sandstone domes collapsed and weathered into a maze of vertical rock slabs called "fins." Sections of these slender walls eventually wore through creating the spectacular rock sculptures that visitors to Arches see today. The land has a timeless indestructible look that is misleading. More than…

: The Fiery Furnace : Arches National Park "We spent about three hours in the Fiery Furnace and that was plenty of time to explore. We saw a few secret arches [like Skull Arch pictured above] scrambled up some rock piles and generally treated the Fiery Furnace like a giant playground. It was fun and exhausting and made us very sore in muscles that apparently arent used on regular trails. It tested our navigation skills and trail-following tendencies. It was an amazing way to spend three…

: Arches National Park Delicate Arch is one of the most iconic and best known attractions of any national park and at sunset may be one of the best places to catch that once in a lifetime photograph. Delicate Arch stands among the vast desert of the Colorado Plateau but surprisingly enough wasn't even protected when Arches became a National Monument in 1929. Not until Nine years later was an extension added to include and protect Delicate Arch. : @kaylabert

: The Fiery Furnace : Arches National Park "The Fiery Furnace is a rugged trail-less 2-square-mile zone in the middle of Arches National Park that is often simply driven past. Looking out the car window on the way by a visitor can see large rock formations that resemble other areas of the park. Meandering within the Fiery Furnace boundaries though is unlike any other experience in the park." @switchbackkids We are celebrating the stunning beauty and mysterious landscapes of Arches…
