Hello, my name's Christina. Please don't give me nicknames such as Tina or Chrissy though... I don't like them. I tend to be rather quiet, as I like to listen rather than speak, though I don't mind speaking if spoken to. I'm rather friendly, but I'm also pretty shy, and a bit awkward as well as klutzy. I enjoy writing and nature, as well as sweets. I've been told I have powers, though I'm not sure what they are. I've never used them...

Writing that people choose to read. That is what I’m after. Is it perfect? Grammatically, often not. Sometimes incomplete sentences. Sometimes an awkward word. But riveting, oh yes. Great writing is riveting. I was arrested by this comment in Peter Elbow’s book Writing with Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process. Elbow says, “Much “excellent” […]

Powerful quote by Paul Coelho. It's something we don't see too often and as a female it can be difficult to say no to a lot of things in fear of seeming prude boring odd or uptight. We've been conditioned to soften our speech but what for? If 'I'll get back to you/ I'll think about it" in your head means "I'm actually going to say no eventually" just say no at the time and say it with your chest. There is nothing wrong with the word 'no' and there is beauty in confidence and being true to…

I've been meditating on this verse since Sunday. For the past year I've been trying to convince God that I WANT to get well. But I haven't been willing to take the steps to do it. I haven't been willing to give up my sin and my lust after fleshly desires. This Lenten season I'm choosing to WANT to be well... more than I want anything else. I'm choosing life over death. I'm choosing health and wholeness in Jesus' name through Jesus' power in me. . Oh. And that's supposed to be me. The Awkward…

Prayer journaling is beginning to do some amazing things in my life. Seriously. Try it. I don't make coherent sentences they run on for lines and there is no spell check but it is powerful. I am in no way "good" at it but each word is beginning to change my heart and perspective. Some days I write a novel others it's bullet points and if I can't find words I copy down some scripture. I'm not beating myself up if I miss a day instead I start again where I am at. Give it a shot. It's ok to be…

I feel extremely privileged to be a part of this beautiful celebration..of love.of unity family. Olga you look absolutely stunning tonight.. eugene is a very lucky man... And judging by his gambling in all the years I've known him luck isn't his strong suit. (we're not gonna call it an addiction by no means but let's just say we both graduated Pace with a minor in cafeteria poker) .. What IS his strong suit however is his sense of loyalty and compassion. His enthusiasm and curiosity…

Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference. Max Lucado

This week I am opening up all about fear and the power that we can use to either stay in one place or stretch and challenge ourselves. In order to move past fear we need to own it. Admit to it and release its hold on us. Here are 5 things I'm afraid to share. 1. This image feels a little awkward to me as I'm not used to seeing myself from this angle. I notice my chin and uneven skin but then we all are overly self-critical. 2. Most of the time I am plan-less and I get caught up in my…
