Back in the day, I'd work my college nights at Cablelearn, the UW's cable channel at the time.   And one of the movies they liked to air was "Battleship Potemkin" (1925). And so I'd thread the projector with this silent flick, play it through a film chain, and magically it would be on the air.  Of course I never watched it. It's a silent movie, for crying out loud.  But life is funny, and years later, I'd be completely rocked back by a movie scene that takes all its inspiration from this one…
