Medic and PFC Warren Capers, 18 August 1944 During the Normandy landing, Capers (along with other members of his medical detachment) a dressing station and gave aid for over 330 soldiers on their beachhead—an act which got him a Silver Star recommendation. Whether or not he was awarded said Star is another story.
