Autumn Gold - Australian Stock Horse. The Australian Stock Horse is bred for intelligence, courage, toughness and stamina. The horse will be sound, agile and quick moving with a sure-footed walk. It will have a calm, responsive temperament. All colours are acceptable. Height ranges from 14 to 16.2 hands (56 to 66 inches, 142 to 168 cm).
Man o’ War in his coffin. The most famous Thoroughbred died on November 1, 1947 at the age of 30 of an apparent heart attack. He was the first horse to be embalmed, and his casket was lined in his riding colors. The funeral was broadcast internationally over the radio and over 2,000 people came to pay their final respects.
