Curiosity thrills. posted a photo:  A discomycete fungus that grows on old Holly leaves. Similar in appearance to Holly Speckle. The easiest way to ID them is that Holly Speckle only shows on the topside of the leaf whereas P.h. shows on both sides as seen here. Deserves to be seen under a microscope. There is scant information re this particular fungus on the net.  NX392694

VolVal posted a photo:  I thought fungus were better in the Autumn. Both my fungus-hosting stumps are covered in them. The other stump has almost disappeared under a rapidly spreading brown one. Mono - colour, less interesting.

This macaque is primarily terrestrial, spending more than 60% of its day on the ground foraging for food and socializing, while sleeping and searching for food in the trees.  The Celebes crested macaque is frugivorous, with 70% of its diet consisting of fruits. It also consumes leaves, buds, seeds, fungus, birds and bird eggs, insects (such as caterpillars), and the occasional small lizard or frog.
