Shireesh Dharap I started with a white illustration board and covered it with finely ground pumice suspended in diluted adhesive. After it dried thoroughly , I did a freewheeling monochromatic acrylic underpainting with burnt umber , which you can still see at places. This was allowed to dry. I then proceeded with Rembrandt pastels for the darks ,and finally , some strategic touches with soft Schminckes in the highlights. Kept the strokes to the barest minimum , trying to avoid overworking.
