Collinswood Mansion - "Dark Shadows" (1966-1971) - in the show, the house was built by Joshua Collins in 1795 near the seaside town of Collinsport, Maine - the house USED for Collinswood exteriors in the original tv show was actually the lovely 1920s Carey mansion on Ruggles Avenue in Newport Rhode Island.

Jonathan Frid as Barnabas Collins and David Selby as Quentin Collins on Dark Shadows. The Gothic soap opera Dark Shadows originally aired weekdays on ABC television from June 1966, to April 1971. The show depicted the lives and loves, trials and tribulations of the wealthy Collins family of Collinsport, Maine. It featured vampires, ghosts, werewolves, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel, and a parallel universe.
