She was so afraid to leave her behind, so my sister wanted me to make her a Mondkatze as a parting gift and to keep Hallie close to her at all times. Her friend's favorite photo of Hallie was one of her on top of a wall just chilling in this pose, my sister also told me that her friend loves Japanese culture and sakura, so I put both things together to make Hallie look like she's chilling on top of a sakura tree... on the moon... with the sky behind her... don't ask me, it's pretty and it makes sense in my head. It's one of my favorite designs so far. And my sister chose THE BEST way ever to ask me to do something, she came with a bag full of my favorite bread in the whole world, tossed it in front of me and said "make me a Mondkatze". I devoured it all, probably put in a few kilos, and made this. WINNING. I don't charge my mom and sis for my work, but they usually give me things in return so I think we have a sweet deal As some of you already know I love animals, so I looked for a local non-kill shelter to donate and volunteer. I found one that is doing an amazing job helping animals, I contacted them and they're awesome. I want to start raising funds for them, so from now on all the profits I make from Mondkatze and Mondhund (minus shipping and materials) will be saved and donated to my local no-kill and no-profit shelter, I will make every donation public and post the receipt to prove that I'm doing this for real, I will also write a journal about them soon. I think that this is a great chance for us animal lovers, you can get a customized piece of your pets AND donate to animals in need if anyone is interested contact me! Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay, the flowers were cut with a tiny cutter, shaped to look like cherry blossoms and the center was painted with a light pink wash. Everything is handmade by me, no molds or premades were used. Would you like to commission a Mondkatze or a Mondhund? I'm accepting commissions for this, I can customize the moon with any combination of colors you want, or make it flat instead of textured, round, shiny, anything! If you send me reference photos I will also make an exact miniature copy of your own cat, dog or any cat/dog you want.
