RESERVED 17th Century Stumpwork Embroidery Needlework Casket 17th from trinityantiques on Ruby Lane

A 17th Century needlework casket,  of rectangular form, worked in coloured silks and metal threads having speckled sequin detailing. This box purportedly belonged to the court of King Charles II and was presented to Jane Lane after she assisted him in fleeing Britain after being defeated at the battle of Worcester in 1651. The box was then handed to Jane’s sister Anne Birch and it was through this family that the box was passed down from generation to generation.
