How to make a papier mache horse: make a little stick horse with wire, wrap around paper tissues and then masking tape to hold the tissue in place. Gradually build it up until you have a horse! Papier mache over the top. Let it dry between layers so that you build up a nice hard surface. Then paint and decorate.

Zebra Rocking Horse:  DYI  All you need is a wooden rocking horse (Michaels), some sand paper to polish it off, a spray can of paint with primer (we used white), a paint marker to outline the stripes (Michaels), and paint of your choice (we used silver).  You may also cover the horse with a layer of varnish.   Although it looks like my husband did the horse, he actually had nothing to do with it!  He polished it off for 2 minutes yet appears to have been a major contributor given the pic :P
