Gold-bordered Hairstreak (Rekoa palegon) - Underwings are pale gray-brown with streaks of darker brown, sometimes reddish, and a wide golden-orange band along the edge. Upperwings are bright blue in males, pale blue-gray to brown in females.    Range: Mexico - South America. Very rare sightings in the U.S. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Host Plants: Asteraceae family & Verbena.

PNW Moths | Psammopolia wyatti - This species is a burrowing cutworm that burrows through the sand, and feeds on various herbaceous vegetation such as beach knotweed (Polygonum paronychia) in the Polygonaceae, sand verbena (Abronia spp.) in the Nyctaginaceae, beach tansy (Tanacetum douglasii) in the Asteraceae, and various beach grasses (Poaceae).  It is unlikely to be attracted to a garden not located in/on beach habitat.
