CROCK POT RED BEANS AND RICE: I used 6 cups of water and increased the broth by 1 cup. I did not cook the sausage first either. Followed the rest of the recipe and it was pretty good and very easy. Could have used a bit more spice (ground hot sausage maybe). Do not put the sausage in at the start, wait until it's almost done to add the sausage otherwise the meat loses its flavor and gives a strange soggy consistency.
