Prunus 'Etna' Compact Laurel hedging is a dense shrub perfect for garden boundaries. 'Etna' is much like the Common Laurel but with a more compact growing height of 8ft-10ft. The large fleshy leaves means that laurel has good sound absorbing qualities. It has rich deep green leaves which make a wonderful backdrop to borders and flower beds. Photinia 'Red Robin' Hedging is an attractive plant that offers colour throughout the year. Photinias offer a substitute to Laurel when choosing an evergreen hedge. During spring, a brilliance of bright red shoots turning green and glossy in summer. Small clusters of white flowers during spring are followed by dark red fruit in the autumn months.
A fast evergreen hedging plant with glossy dark green leaves that can form a dense hedge of up to 3 metres high. Escallonia is particularly suited to the coastal garden. It is suitable to all soils but does prefer full sun. It responds very well to clipping and flowers continuously from early summer to mid-autumn. Escallonia is one of the few hedges which will produce a respectable show of blossoms even if regularly clipped.

Laurus nobilis The Bay Laurel is a smart dark green scented shrub. It can be useful for hedging as it produces a very dense screen that can be kept to 4ft (120cm). This scented shrub is used in cooking for its aromatic leaves, this makes it useful for a cottage garden hedging plant.
Tiarella & Brunnera Plant Combination These two will form quick and easy groundcover in partially shaded spots. Equally good for front of border positions, lining a woodland path, or underplanting trees and shrubs.
