Hibiscus - full sun, well-drained soil, with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Water regularly. Apply a thick mulch, but not touching the stem. Prune late Sept to Oct to shape, remove old wood and encourage flowering. Heavy feeders. Apply complete fertiliser (eg rose or citrus food) after pruning and during the flowering. Water well before and after fertilising.
