Chiang Mai prawn jungle curry. The curry is a very simple puree of fresh red chili, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, coriander stalks and a little curry powder. It’s ridiculously simple to prepare, practically no chopping and there isn’t any ingredient you couldn’t pick up at the supermarket.
Pancit Canton, stir fried noodles with shrimp, cabbage, and carrots. Very good and affordable. While shrimp isn't typically a large family source of protein the rest of the ingredients are very affordable. The noodles are available at walmart.ca
Gyudon (Beef Bowl) Recipe. Never seen it done with beaten egg like that, usually we just have onsen tamago on top. The beef for it is hard to find already sliced, I find a very sharp santoku taken to a half-frozen chuck roast works very well.
