TONGLEN means taking in and sending out. This teaching connects us with the openness and softness of our hearts instead of shielding and protecting our soft spot, we allow ourselves to be human. Tonglen practice has four stages. First stage (flashing openness). Flashing openness or flashing absolute bodhichitta. Loving kindness meditation, Lama Surya Das. This is one of my favourite types of meditations. It is especially useful to someone who feels the pain of others in the world deeply, which can sometimes lead to a feeling of helplessness and pain. If there is a particular person in your life you are worrying about, you can send the meditation specifically to them. This meditation brings me peace.
