The Retrato de Dora Maar painting is made by Pablo Picasso at 1936. It is a cubism. It is a style and movement in art, especially painting, in which perspective with a single viewpoint was abandoned and use was made of simple geometric shapes, interlocking planes, and, later, collage. Picasso used basic lines and shapes to paint an abstract portrait. He used many different colors to make his painting more conspicuous and different.

It is Art Day!: Kandinsky Trees

KANDINSKY Oooh- this is a great Kadinsky project. Paint background and stamp circles. Second day- cut trees and two colors for circle leaves.

Popped Bubble Art: I've done this activity with my kids a few times now and it never fails to fascinate them - and me! Simply color bubble mix with food coloring and blow bubbles onto paper - as the bubbles land and pop, they create beautiful works of art. It goes without saying that this project is best done outdoors. A great one for those lazy summer afternoons.

Firework Salt Painting - Busy Mommy Media _ This is such a cool art project for kids! It looks so neat when it is done. I love that it uses stuff I already have on hand. This would be awesome for a rainy day activity!

I love this recycled spring art. It is so cute and fun. I feel like it is a simple and fun way to teach kids that they can make art out of anything. I love how bright and colorful this is!

Great idea for Green Zone at Craft a garden out of recycled materials to welcome spring and Earth Day. Answer the question, "What is Earth Day about?" with a fun, environmentally friendly craft.

Banksy Death Art It's startling, but there is a point to it. Banksy often touches on very political subjects - to raise awareness about what is truly going on in society. But it is easy to interpret his work to mean other things. For example - this piece focuses on children and their innocence (depicted through the pink butterflies - which are predominantly used to represent blood and death) but also war and culpability through suicide.
