A Belle Epoque diamond ring, 1910. Originally purchased in Paris in 1910 as an engagement ring, this ring was lost in a game of cards to an unscrupulous Duke before it could be presented to the intended bride-to-be. Not long after, the Duke also lost the ring during one of his infamous parties. In 1990, the Duke’s great grand daughter found the ring while searching for her lost hamster. The diamond had been buried under the floorboards of the family’s home for almost 100 years.
