Currywurst in Berlin - The iconic snack of this great city and loved by everyone. A German style pork sausage usually bockwurst is deep fried, cut into pieces, and topped with a ketchup-like tomato sauce and curry powder, and usually served with french fries or a bread roll. This combination was invented in 1947 by Herta Heuer, who was influenced by American and British soldiers who loved ketchup and curry powder respectively. A must-try when in Berlin.
Dolcezza Gelato Factory and Coffee Lab: The 4,000-square-foot warehouse is the production hub for the rapidly expanding business plus restaurants serving Dolcezza sweets. It's also a walk-in gelato and coffee shop, where you'll be able to taste freshly churned gelatos and sorbets, served in porcelain or glass with real silverware; or drink a coffee or espresso from Stumptown. Friday through Sunday, the shop will offer tours at 2 and 4 p.m. daily; pints will be half-price.
