Yes, I set goals high. Do I regret this? No. I had this idea that my son would eventually be able to speak, read, and well, just be more independent. He has come a long, long way. There is a lot to celebrate, but yet, deep down, I feel like I fell short as a mother. This is life. This is autism. I need to step back and let things be all while continuing to push my child to do his very best.
