Thanks to Grant Gunderson, Unofficial Networks readers get a look into what the fuss was all about this month in the North West. With Mount Bakers getting up to 110 inches in one week, and avalanche dangers being in the ‘black’ things we’re getting pretty crazy. Here are a few photos by Gunderson who had the chance to photograph some of the results of the Mount Baker Helicopter avalanche control.
This face is one of the gnarliest looking runs I have ever seen. Not too long but steep and very photogenetic. Last May Andreas Fransson, Samuel Anthamatten and Bjarne Sahlén skied the face in perfect conditions. This one is one to remember.
This is Mt Tumbledown in the Selkirks, British Columbia. It's slightly infamous as the spot where Craig Kelly, one of the legends of snowboarding, died in an avalanche. #craigkelly #snowboard #backcountry #splitboard #ski #powder
