Street artist Mark Jenkins creates hilarious wonderful packing tape sculptures of people in bizarre situations and behaviours, and installs them in cities around the world. His humour is brilliant, as well as his talent as a modern artist of installations.
Jenkins first began using tape to create sculptures. He became immediately interested in the reactions of the people and considered his installation as much a social experiment as an art project. In 2005 he created a series of cast baby toys and were placed in different cities.
A 13 meter high yellow rabbit in Örebro, Sweden was constructed out of locally-manufactured shingles. The temporary sculpture was built for the OpenArt biennale and meant to challenge people’s perceptions towards public space.
