Famed Composer's $2.9M Home Breaks Striver's Row Record

Landmarked 3-story 1891 house on Harlem's Striver's Row at 221 West 138th Street between Frederick Douglass and Adam Clayton Powell boulevards. African-American composer and violinist Will Marion Cook lived there from 1918 to 1944. Retains original stained glass (even in a bathroom), oak floors with chevron detailing, and six fireplaces with carved mantels.
