Glendalough or Glendaloch, meaning "glen of two lakes", is a glacial valley in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is renowned for its Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, a hermit priest, and partly destroyed in 1398 by English troops. Photo © John Quinn 2012

Army SGT Terry M. Lisk, 26, of Fox Lake, Illinois. Died June 29, 2006, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assigned to 1st Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany. Died of injuries sustained from indirect enemy fire when a mortar round landed near his position during combat operations in Ramadi, Anbar Province, Iraq.
