Satin damask ball gown, ca. 1895. Champagne-colored fabric supposedly bought from House of Worth. Bodice is meticulously finished inside à la couture, but skirt is not. Chiffon damask overlay on bodice front has floral pattern that matches flowers in the satin. Bodice is boned and lined with ivory silk taffeta. Lace sleeves and neckline insert. Bodice closes in back with lacings. Skirt has train. Both are embellished with ribbons and bouquets of fabric flowers. Vintage Textile
