When you're tiny, carrying things is tough. Especially when those things are peanuts, which are five centimetres long. The chipmunk,a 15cm rodent, which weighs just 120g can cram things almost half the size of its own body into its mouth. They are equipped with a special tool to make this easier: their cheek pouches. Separated from the rest of the mouth by a piece of skin, both chambers reach down to the chipmunk's shoulders and serve as temporary storage space for food.
