"Turkey red" embroidered bed and kitchen linens were popular in late 19th and early 20th century America. Patterns were available by mail order. This one uses an assortment of unrelated images. The inspiration may have been from Eastern European embroideries, and were especially popular with the Pennsylvania German ("Dutch") community

Dress, possibly American, ca. 1866-68. Four pieces: 2 bodices, skirt, and belt. Magenta silk satin with black silk satin & black cotton lace. Trimmed in the fashionable apron style, skirt has 9 tapered pieces at front & sides and one straight length at back, with deep pleating at back waist that flows into full train. Shown here is the high-necked bodice for formal daytime wear. It also has lower-cut evening bodice. Philadelphia Museum of Art
