Geraldine Farrar, born in 1882, was an American soprano noted for her beauty, acting ability, and "the intimate timbre of her voice."   She debuted at the Met in 1906  Juliette, with Caruso and remained at the Met until 1922, singing such roles as Cio-Cio-San,  Marguerite, and Mimi.
