Remember those chest freezers everyone kept in basement or garage. Talk about a food museum... Rarely ever used food on bottom until ice was about 5" thick & time to defrost.  There were no "best by date" then. if it was frozen, it obviously was still good - no matter how many YEARS it may have been in there! Amazing we lived through some of those not so glorious food moments!  :)
