Architect Baron von Eschwege built this summer palace commissioned by the husband of the young queen Mary II, Fedinand of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. 👑 (Btw, his uncle was the first king of Belgium 🇧🇪.) It was built on the ruins of a chapel Nossa Senhora da Pena, which became a monestary in the 15th century.
