A group of volunteers spent 5,667 hours in 2014 making special shawls for Hospice of Mercy patients. These beautiful shawls, crocheted or knitted with love, are known as prayer shawls because, as they are being made, the volunteer prays that the warm, cozy wrap will be a source of comfort and affirmation to the person who wears it. The exceptional quality of the shawls also allows them to be handed down as a lasting remembrance of a family member who has passed.

It’s just one way Mercy is maintaining stronger connections with our valued retirees who gave us so many years of dedicated service.
