Creamy Aged Cheddar Baked Asparagus---I made this tonight for supper with fresh asparagus from the garden.  We felt like the sauce was a little bland.  When I made the sauce, I used only 2 tablespoons of flour.  I think you should have a 1:1 ratio of butter and flour when making a rue.
