ca early to mid-19th century, likely Northern Europe; all original bent pine/fir with split cane laced joints, polychrome painted with lid having full-length gentleman in 18th century attire with stylized landscape background and geometric border; sides with two rings of tulips and leaves with red and yellow striped borders; 16" long x 10" wide x 6.5" high.  From the Estate of John Auraden of Hamilton & Fairhaven, Ohio.
